National Rootbeer Float day - The Counter

When I think of Root Beer, I think of A&W with a big scoop of Dreyers. Root beer floats was kind of a normal thing we would have at our household growing up. I'm pretty surprised we had it as often as we did. But of course everything was cheaper back then. So when I found out that The Counter was giving away free floats per entree, I was settled for dinner. We were meeting up with a friend who also wanted burgers. The coincidence right?

You know, I want life to be fries and crispy onions. Unlimited. Ok and maybe with unlimited burgers and dipping sauces. Think about it, it really isn't that much I'm asking for.

Custom Burger

My custom made burger is a concoction of 1/3 lb of all natural beef, medium. Sliced red onions, alfalfa sprouts, sliced fresh jalapenos, tomatoes, Korean Chili aioli and Garlic aioli. Sandwiched between a Hawaiian bun which has become my new obsession. Cooked to perfection with a deep pink center. Flip the burger around and enjoy upside down for the ultimate mouth explosive satisfaction. I'm telling you. It's a thing.

Washing it all down with this floaty that was served with more root beer on the side.

No better way to end the night. Food coma is real.

The Counter Burger

It's been a while since I've had a burger. And by a while, it's not having it every other day. I think it's been over a week since I had one, and probably the reason why I've been in a not so pleasant mood.

Why Daisy?! Why did I stop eating burgers?! Well, to be honest... I was at the dentist one day. And they were working up my mouth for so long, my jaw was stuck, and became sore for the next few days. I had a burger that night because I couldn't say no. But then, the regrets starts to roll in as the pain punches your face. Yes I still ate my burger but decided to give myself a break.

After a long week of work, I realized, I needed a burger. Need is a little bit of a understatement. I felt like I was almost turning Vegan. I wanted a burger to bring me back to reality. I am a carnivore.

Witt a slight hesitation, I went with my basic pick. Because I was starving, and really wanted something I know I could trust.

This is my 1/3 of delicious Hormone & Antibiotics free beef. John got the 1/2 pounder. It didn't even cross my mind to order a bigger patty until I saw how thick his was.

Toppings: red onions, corn and black beans salsa, fresh jalapeños, Anaheim chilies, roasted green chilies, roasted red peppers, roasted tomatoes, and coleslaw.

The Jaw test. I think I did pretty good. I don't like cutting my burgers in half. Maybe for a photo, but, I like to hold it in my hands. It makes me feel powerful. The slight grease that trails on your fingers, and the constant napping grabbing.

I've been going to the Counter for 8 years now I believe. The first time I was here, I arm wrestled someone and had my first Fat Tire beer. It happens! but I love to arm wrestle, it helps me take down burgers.

At the end of the day, the Counter is still one of my favorite Burger restaurants. They have killer onion strings, Allagash Curieux (I love tripels) and Gold Road Hef on tap.

From your professional burger eater,

Daisy

The Habit Burger Grill

If you know me, you will know that I love and pretty much obsessed with The Habit Burger Grill. And I'm not the only one, my dad loves it too. I would even run into him sometimes. Or he would just come up to me and grab my arm instead of being a regular person and say hi in front of me. I could've knocked him! Anyways, their charburgers pretty much says it all "CHARBURGER". With char, it comes with mounds of flavor. And for some strange reason, it always comes out perfectly. I eat at The Habit, pretty religiously (at least once a week). Like some folks who crave In & Out all the time, I need my charburger, with a side of onion rings, all the time.

Right now, you can go to The Habit and donate to No Kid Hungry. No Kid Hungry focuses on ending child hunger in America. What I also love about their campaign is teaching low income families how to prep and make healthy meals for their family. At the Habit, with a $2 donation or more, you can receive a free charburger on your next visit.

Double Charburger with cheese

Hashtag your image with #SayCheeseburger and win a chance to be featured at the Nasdaq tower for national burger day. Yes, I want to win. Because I am the hugest fan of their charburgers. But since this campaign is for a great cause, I need to share this with you.

So start snapping and hash tagging #saycheeseburger. My tummy was happy, but I felt even better knowing I contributed to a cause that ends hunger here in America.

Another great thing about this is that all 100% of the donations that you give at The Habit will go directly to the organization. Again, why not?

Start eating!

Burger cheers,

Daiisies
